Knowledge becomes power only when it is put into practice. On March 11, 2026, following its annual fire safety training, Santon Carbide conducted a full-scale emergency drill to test and strengthen the company’s response capabilities. All employees participated.
The drill simulated a fire caused by equipment failure in the wet milling workshop, with smoke spreading quickly. Employees practiced raising the alarm, evacuating through designated routes, accounting for all personnel and providing first aid. The volunteer firefighting team demonstrated hose connection and water spraying, while new hires and key staff practiced using fire extinguishers on a controlled fire.
The exercise was supported by Chengdu Yu’an Fire Safety Technology Service Center and observed by General Manager Yan Min, who served as the drill’s commander-in-chief.
The drill also tested coordination among the communication, evacuation, firefighting, medical and security teams. In the post-drill assessment, employees answered safety questions correctly and demonstrated proper extinguisher operation. The drill met the requirements of the company’s emergency response plans and was rated successful and effective.
For Santon Carbide, the drill is part of an ongoing commitment to employee safety, skill development and a culture of preparedness. By investing in regular, realistic training, the company aims to protect its people, strengthen teamwork and continuously improve its safety performance.
